Subject: An amazing overview of the Clinical Archives
I recommend this release to anyone who has not yet discovered the great range of music that is covered by this netlabel. The genres range from independent rock to electronic noise experiments.

Subject: Skip around because a full listen won't make it.
This set, equivalent to 4CD's, would have gotten the usual 4.5 or 5 stars if Clinical Archives didn't put any of their misguided attempts to put experimental pop songs on their albums. While most of those are inoffensive, track 1.13, "Insight" by Subterminal, is the sonic equivalent to nails on a chalkboard, and this is from someone who listens to Merzbow enough to know how those pieces go. It is nearly 7 minutes of tinkly bonk and a violin with no standards for tuning, accompanied by a whispery male voice contemplating ingesting the cyanide. This track alone pulled it down 100 stars. The rest of the comp is okay, when it's not misguided pop songs and idiots who can't sing trying to do so. When it is what Clinical Archives does best (destroying your mind with avant-garde and illogical structures) it redeems itself, but in no way were they ready to fill 4 CDs worth. Ditch the vocal tracks and have yourself a fine introduction to Clinical Archives, but as it is it is absolutely not recommended. Make your own anthology if you need one.

Subject: a great "best of the best" compilation
I review compilations all the time, and this remains one of my faves. Lots of styles, lots of accessible songs mixed with oddities. An unxpected delight: Mario Del Nunzio Down the raddits_hole (pretty wild!).

The quality of Clinical Anthology varies, but this "best of the best" certainly has a high percentage of awesome tracks.
